What is UCAS and how to apply for undergraduate and foundation programmes

Applying for an undergraduate degree in the UK is very simple. You can apply for up to five courses at once through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and UCAS handles everything else. This webinar is aimed at guiding you on how to apply through UCAS for undergraduate programmes step by step and also giving information on types of international foundation programmes.

Sam joined UCAS in 2016 as a Professional Development Executive. She leads training for teachers, careers advisers and students; and develops training resources to support face-to-face and online learning. Sam is a qualified teacher and prior to joining UCAS worked in secondary education as both a classroom teacher and Head of Department.   Sam is part of a team that has extensive experience of providing training on key issues that impact on progression to higher education. This includes delivering sessions for admissions and recruitment staff working in higher education institutions, sessions for those advising applicants through the admissions process including teachers and careers advisers, and providing sessions to parents and young people on the applications process.

Teona joined UCAS in July 2021, after more than six years of working in the international education sector in a range of international student recruitment, credential evaluation and service development roles. As a member of UCAS’ Customer Experience Team, Teona is responsible for the experience of all UCAS’ international customers throughout their UCAS journey including international staff at UK universities, students, advisers, and agents; as the voice of the customer, Teona provides insight and feedback which enables UCAS to understand its customers better. Additionally, Teona’s responsibilities include contributing to and implementing UCAS’ international customer engagement approach and supporting the delivery of a robust and valued set of UCAS products and services spanning both UG and PG levels.

Kartal Cihad Gultekin has been in the International education sector for almost 15 years with his combined student experience in Canada, the UK, and New Zealand. After studying High School, Foundation, Diploma, and University overseas he decided to help international students from all around the world. Previously he worked for New Zealand's largest private education provider and has been representing UEL, WGU & Malvern International for the last year and a half serving students from Turkey and Europe.
